Piles and its treatment

BC Egyptian papyrus was mentioning that it is a condition which is affecting human race and people were seeking treatment of it. Now a days it is believed that 2% of the human world is affected by piles. It is also known as Haemorrhoidal disease. Several innumerable cases of piles are present which unfortunately is not reported because the patients do not seek medical treatment for it. The disease affects men and women equally. This disease normally affect people who’s age is 45 to 65 years.

Its exact cause is not known yet. But experts believe that some factors results in the condition of piles.

  • Genetics and ageing.
  • Pressure due to obesity or during pregnancy.
  • Straining during defecation

It may manifest externally or internally depending on severity in which it is classified as

  • Grade 1
  • Grade 2
  • Grade 3
  • Grade 4

In these Grade 1 is the mildest form. It has symptoms like bleeding, pain, itchiness. Deceding the treatment of piles the more examination of its symptoms is required. Piles is treated with conservative methods if it is not in severe stage. Only in gpiles and its treatmentrade 2,3 or 4 the patient have to go for operation. Earlier the only way to treat Haemorrhoids is open surgery. But now a days it has been too simple and easy because of modern technology. The most effective treatment now a days for piles is Minimally Invasive Procedure(MIPS).  This method is also applied in low postoperative pain  because it’s the preffered choice of patients.
