Hadi Manji is the main author of Oxford Handbook of Neurology 2nd Edition. He is a Consultant Neurologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
“General neurologist Manji treats ailments ranging from migraines to MS. He gathers a detailed history from his patients before moving on to investigations, including blood tests, MRI and lumbar puncture”.
Dr Manji studied medicine at Cambridge University Medical School and the Middlesex Hospital, gaining his final MB BChir in 1982. He initially trained as a GP in Edinburgh before specialising in Neurology at The Middlesex, Royal Free and National Hospitals. He spent a six month sabbatical at L’hôpital Kremlin-Bicêtre in Paris before being appointed Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital and the Ipswich Hospital in 1997.
As Consultant Neurologist at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen’s Square, London, Dr Manji runs a general neurology clinic and also holds specialist interest clinics for patients with peripheral nerve disorders and neuro-infection. He is active in teaching and is involved in developing a new medical school in Beira, Mozambique, which he visits for two weeks every year. Dr Manji is also the Chief Author and Editor of the Oxford Handbook of Neurology which is used during their training by junior doctors and neurologists worldwide.
